How we will work togetherMy Approach
Life can bring challenges that feel difficult to navigate alone. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your relationship or your family, I offer a thoughtful and collaborative space to help you move towards greater calm, clarity and connection.
Every person, couple and family is unique, so I take an integrative approach that is tailored to your needs and what has brought you to counselling.
Together, we can explore the immediate challenges you're facing while also making sense of the deeper patterns that often shape the way we think, feel and relate to one another. My work is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory and informed by the practical, research-based relationship insights of Dr John Gottman. I also draw on approaches including Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory and Motivational Interviewing, integrating them thoughtfully to support meaningful and lasting change.
Working Alongside Parents
My work with parents is informed by a range of evidence-based parenting programs, including Black Box Parenting, Tuning in to Teens and Parent Hope Project. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, I work alongside parents to help them think more clearly, respond with greater confidence and strengthen connection within their family.
Supporting Clinical Practice
My work with clinicians is grounded in Bowen Family System’s work to enable a thoughtful approach to supervision including examining therapeutic practice, therapist/client relationship and professional/mandatory reporter obligations. I utilise the framework of Michael Carroll’s Seven Tasks of Supervision. Having worked in a variety of practise settings, I am also able to take a practical approach to supervision with recommendations of resources for working with clients as well as understanding and working within various system structures eg health, NGO or private practice.
