AboutThoughtful support for relationships, parenting and the moments when life feels difficult to navigate.
Simone Connell
I am a warm, thoughtful and experienced Certified Clinical Counsellor, accredited with the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Nursing), a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, a Master of Counselling, and am an Accredited Parent Hope Project Facilitator.
25+ Years of Experience
With more than 25 years experience across health services, non-government organisations and private practice, I have worked with individuals, couples, families and parents through a wide range of life challenges. My experience includes relationship difficulties, parenting, trauma—including domestic violence and sexual assault—and grief. I work with children, adolescents and adults.
Being a partner, parent, daughter and sibling myself, I was drawn to this work through my own appreciation of how meaningful—and how challenging—family relationships can be. I believe that while most of us long to be our calmest, bravest and most genuinely connected selves with the people we love, this is rarely easy. It is this understanding, together with my professional experience, that continues to shape my work.
Supporting Meaningful Change
I am passionate about helping people build relationships with greater calm, honesty and connection. Drawing on family systems thinking, I support people to better understand themselves, the families they grew up in, and the ways these experiences continue to influence their relationships today.
I work alongside parents to help them become more confident, thoughtful and clear in their parenting, while nurturing a warm and connected relationship with their children.
I also work with clinicians in supervision to be calm and thoughtful in their practice and to have greater insight into what might pull or push them away from this version of themselves.
